It is so difficult to live life and eat without having more exposure to toxins. From the air we breathe to foods we eat, toxins are hidden. In our office one way we look at toxic exposure levels is by using hair analysis, which provides us with a general overview of the heavy metal toxicities. At this point we can discuss the best methods for detoxifying the body; homeophathics, herbs, infrared saunas, ioncleanse (detox footh bath) and other cleanses. Toxins create inflammation in the body and interrupt the normal cellular function.
Most of us need to have a regular regime of detoxifying the body twice a year. I was personally amazed to find my mercury levels had gone all the way back up to the severe range just by eating tuna and salmon frequently.

You are what you eat. You are what you absorb.
There are two meanings here. One if you don't supply the body with what it needs to heal your body won't heal. What you absorb refers to whether or not your body digests and takes in the important nutrients you supply, If you have a lack of enzymes or digestive problems you may not be absorbing the nutrition you need.

Stanley Borroughs Master Cleanse
A long standing cleanse by Stanley Borroughs. This a minimum 10 day fast drinking and mixture of lemon juice, water, cayenne and grade B maple syrup. I recommend getting his small booklet which explains his theory on this cleanse. I personally have done this cleanse more than 1/2 dozen times. Always consult with your physician before taking on a major fast or cleanse.
One of the fastest ways to detoxify the liver and gallbladder, but may be to harsh for you. I have personally done this flush more than 1/2 dozen times. The first time was very rough and by the 4th time had very little detoxification side effects. Always consult with your physician before taking on a major fast or cleanse.
Dr. Budwig Diet - Flax Seed Diet
This is a great look at the good fats versus bad fats. Good fats produce anti-inflammatory prostaglandins which reduce swelling and inflammatory conditions. This diet may be wonderful for persons with arthritis, certain heart conditions, anti-cancer and other inflammatory conditions. My father dropped his cholesterol levels in half from high levels to low normal in only one month.

You may feel a bit ill at ease, have diarrhea, nausea and headaches.
These side effects can very greatly on how toxic your body is and how fast you are trying to detoxify. More is definitely not always better when detoxifying.
Herxheimer reaction is due to excessive detoxifying where the body reacts by having symptoms similar to flu, this usually only lasts for a few hours.
You want to avoid this type of reaction. This is because toxins are being released into the body quicker than they are being eliminated from the body and thus in a way is exposing your body to the toxins you are trying to eliminate.
If you have this reaction you need to drink more water and decrease the level of detox regime you are doing. Remember it took awhile for your body to accumulate these toxins so give your body sometime to eliminate them.
This is not to scare you from detoxifying your body. Heavy metal toxicity can result in debilitating diseases so detoxifying may be in your best interest, but be consistent rather than over zealous.
In some cases diseases that are due toxicity may require fast detoxification which is best done under the supervision of a detoxification specialist to avoid any of these complications.
Alkalize your body by foods and especially Alkaline Antioxidant Water to support your weight loss. If you are already too toxic your body doesn't want to break down and release fat because fat stores toxins. Therefore, breaking down fat releases more toxins. You need a healthy alkaline system to burn fat efficiently.

Ultimately if you are eating foods that are inflaming you, causing you to bloat and feel tired; you need to go on an anti-inflammatory diet for 3 to 5 weeks to increase your metabolism and detoxify.
Then you can add foods back into your normal diet to find which foods are creating this inflammatory cycle - and then stay away.
